Centerway Square
We’re kicking off Make Music Day with an opening ceremony at 10:30am here at Centerway Square. Following this will be an instrument petting zoo, learn how to play guitar, open mic recital, and live performances!
11 Lakes Market
Join us at 11 Lakes Market at 38 W Market Street for a free activity including painting your own maracas and an open hat bar, where you can design your own hat using supplies provided!
Rockwell Art Lab
Make Music Day WEIRD at the Rockwell Art Lab at 36 E Market St. Join us from 9am-6pm with free admission into our Interactive Noise Forest. Try out strange instruments and make weird musical noises!
Marich Music store
Join us at our storefront at 62 E Market Street for live performances by local musicians from 12:00-6:00pm. During this same time, Marich will be hosting “String Together”, an event where string players can come in for a FREE string change and lesson on string changes. Spots are limited, sign-up below to guarantee your slot!
Wall Street Archway
Join us at the Wall Street archway for live performances by local musicians from 11am-8pm. There will a break from 3:00-4:30pm for our community drum circle which is open to the public for all ages to join!
Val Reep Fountain
Visit the Val Reep Fountain at 63 W Market Street for live performances by local musicians from
12:00-8:00pm!
Make Music Day Weird: an Interactive Noise Forest
On June 22, Make Music Day takes over the ARTLAB at Kid's Rockwell.
Come and play with electronic instruments, noise machines, synthesizers, and other non-typical instruments. ARTLAB will be open 9am-5pm on Saturday, June 22.
Admission is FREE.
String Together
String Together is a guitar restring event for Make Music Day 2024, supported by Elixir Strings.
String Together will happen at Marich Music, 62 E Market Street, Corning NY 14830 on Make Music Day, Saturday June 22nd, 2024 from 12:00 to 6:00PM, providing on-demand guitar restringing with string change lesson.
The first 12 registrants will receive a free restring of their acoustic guitar with Elixir Phosphor Bronze strings or D'Addario electric strings. Open slots may be available for walk-in on the day of, however, you are more guaranteed if you sign up.
